PM Calls on Public to Show Support for National Athletes in a Dignified Manner

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen has called on the public to support the national athletes in a polite and dignified manner.

The Prime Minister sent a message through his official Telegram channel on Wednesday night, 27 April 2023, requesting members of the public to be ready to contribute to Cambodia’s national image as the host of the upcoming SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games.

On Wednesday, the SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games torch also returned to Cambodia through the Trapeang Kriel-Nong Nok Khean international border crossing with Laos in Stung Treng province, after having successfully toured nine Southeast Asian countries.

Following the torch relay procession's completed leg in Stung Treng, the relay will continue through Kratie, Tbong Khmum, Kampong Cham, Kandal and work its way up to the Win-Win Memorial. The torch relay in Phnom Penh will begin on 29 April and will make one last trip around the Tonle Sap Lake before returning to the capital city on 5 May for the opening ceremony of the SEA Games.
